On this episode, Andrew sits down with Montreal radio disc jockey, Dave Kaufman. Dave is the long-time host of “The Exchange” on CJAD AM 800. On his show, he covers everything from politics to pop culture. Dave can also be heard talking Montreal sports on TSN 690.

Andrew met Dave on a recent trip to Montreal where the two hit it off while hiking through the cemetery on Parc du Mont-Royal. They found they had a load to talk about (which you’ll hear in this episode).

On this episode, Andrew and Dave discuss their early rock n’ roll influences, differences between the US/UK/Canada, and some of the great Canadian bands including Tragically Hip, Guess Who, Bryan Adams, etc.

On this episode, Andrew sits down with Danny Goldberg who has quite the career in the music business. He’s been a personal manager, record company President, public relations man and journalist. Danny is well known for managing the careers of artists such as Nirvana, Hole, Sonic Youth, Bonnie Raitt, The Allman Brothers, Rickie Lee Jones, Steve Earle and more.

Danny has written a number of fantastic books about the music business including: “How The Left Lost Teen Spirit”, “Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside The Rock and Roll Business”, and ““In Search of The Lost Chord: 1967 and the Hippie Idea.”

Andrew and Danny take a trip to the beginning of Danny’s career and discuss his time working at Billboard and Atlantic Records. They also touch on Danny and Andrew’s time working with the members of Led Zeppelin, Jerry Wexler, and Bob Dylan. Danny gives Andrew an American History lesson of the 60’s.

On the second episode of Sounds and Vision, Andrew talks with Rob Schwartz, CEO of advertising agency, TBWA/Chiat/Day. They start by talking about the concept of Disruption Marketing and how TBWA/Chiat/Day built an entire business on this concept. Little did Andrew know, he was using the same disruption marketing tactics throughout his career working with the Rolling Stones and Immediate Records. The rest of the podcast sees Andrew and Rob touching on everything from their favorite advertising campaigns to the reason Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom Parker never left the United States.

On the first episode, Andrew catches up with his old friend, Mick Rock. Last time Andrew saw Mick was at the premiere of his auto-biographical documentary, “SHOT! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock.” Mick is often referred to as ‘The Man Who Shot the Seventies’, for his iconic images of Syd Barrett, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Queen, the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Blondie, Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc. London born, he has resided in New York for the past 35 years.

He has shot over 100 album covers including: Lou Reed’s Transformer and Coney Island Baby, Iggy and The Stooges’ Raw Power, Queen’s Queen II (recreated for their classic music video ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’) and Sheer Heart Attack, The Ramones End of the Century and Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.
